Join us for our first virtual workshop in partnership with PJ Library! Inspired by the book Something from Nothing, written and illustrated by Phoebe Gilman, we will be using repurposed materials to build the Home Sweet Home Pencil Holder. You and your child will learn basic woodworking skills to build this fun and functional eco-friendly project. Throughout the ages, Jewish thinkers have advocated conservation and resourcefulness. The Jewish concept of bal tashchit means “do not waste” and is a theme throughout the story of Something from Nothing as Joseph’s grandfather repurposes a jacket into a variety of useful items as Joseph grows.. We will use our creativity and building skills to show our children that just like Joseph’s grandfather, we can create something beautiful and useful by repurposing materials. Pre-Order: This project ships July 29th Join us on ZOOM for the virtual workshop! Thursday, August 6th 9:30 AM Login details to follow.
